I got this questionnaire message 2 hours ago. It says something about someone named “Thatiany Nunes” doing an independent research about how the migration from Reddit to Lemmy’s impact was.
I haven’t received it, but Thatiany Nunes seems to be a real grad student. https://dongseo.academia.edu/ThatianyNunes
Tell them to message me, I’m down for their survey
Oh, me too! I love giving people my opinion.
not /s, I really do :)
Yeah, where’s my survey, damnit?
Clearly the best way to get answers for their survey would have been to post a question on Ask Lemmy directly.
Then it would be biased towards answers from the kinds of users who join and read AskLemmy. The researcher hopefully had some method in mind to reduce bias through good sample selection.
See, this is why I’d make a bad scientist. You’re absolutely right.
It does make me wonder how they made their sample selection.
I would like to register for it as well but with my ADHD I don’t know if I will be answering it anymore when/in case it arrives but I would definitely want to now and maybe soon-ish still but idk if I would do it if it takes too long maybe though. I would definitely try to answer every question but the enthusiasm is at a high right now
What’s your opinion on eating cooled watermelon on a hot summer’s day? Isn’t it just the best cooling off, eating and drinking all at the same time?
Not OP, but I think that would rank #4 on my list of things to eat raw on a hot day.
1: Cucumber;
2: Carrots;
3: Potatoes (obviously peeled, I’m not an animal);
4: Watermelon.
Raw potatoes?
I agree with the rest.
The greener the better. I like the tingle on my liver.
I’m not gullible. You are!
Hey, I represent that!
Yuh cucumbers are just the best thing to eat imo
It is! I also like turning it into a smoothie and freezing it as popsicles.
Frozen fruit in general is so cooling and nice.
I’m willing to answer as well. The grad student should really just post this on AskLemmy.
Seems normal to me. This is exactly how a lot of undergrad research works.
Yeah, there’s literally nothing strange about this at all. I have done similar things (although my study was done physically, so we invited people in person), and have been invited in and participated in similar things myself.
By itself the subject seems interesting enough to me, a study on the shifting social media landscape. It sounds like a great research topic!
Research needs to be done somehow, and getting data from the people directly involved in the migration is certainly a good way of learning about and documenting the phenomena.
I bet she’s Brazilian, the name just screams 🇧🇷
10/10 reading comprehension. It’s not like she mentioned being at a Korean university or anything, nah.
Exchange students and descendants of immigrants are a thing you know.
No link to a form or anything?
Nope
진짜 동서대인가보네 ㄷㄷ 이거 보고 메시지 주면 저도 해드릴게요 ㅋㅋㅋ
나두 ^^\
Are we really going to just skip over “Thatiany”? how the heck is that pronounced?
TahtyAHny FYI. It’s a weird spelling of a common Brazilian/Portuguese name. The usual spelling is Tatiane.
never in a million years would I have gotten there without that help! The usual spelling makes a lot of sense.
