Reading the article, it quite accurately points out the main problem: Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Ukraine gave up their nuclear weapons because the world (Russia, USA and UK mainly) promised they would protect Ukraine borders. With that promise broken, everybody reverts to the old knowledge that only having nukes of their own will keep a country “safe”. With predictable results…
Wish I lived in the northern hemisphere so I don’t have to try and survive in the chaos that’ll inevitably occur after a nuclear war. But there’s always the hope of sideways targeting so fingers crossed.
