I also believe the Scarecrow’s costume was woven asbestos, as was the bristle part of the wicked witches broom.

IDK about this, but the Tin Man that’s in the movie was the second choice for actor. The first one almost died from the aluminum powder that was in the paint. The Wicked witch’s paint was copper based, so she was on a liquid diet the whole time. She also burned the shit out of herself during that first scene with the smoke and fire. Then of course Judy Garland was given all sorts of shit to fuck her up.

“fake snow” was asbestos flakes for a long time.

But, as much as it’s joked about, large flake asbestos isn’t generally going to be a problem. It’s a problem when you drill/grind/pulverize into a dust (friable) and inhale it.

That said, if you inherited xmas/winter decorations that has fake snow on it, I’d recommend you get rid of that in a safe way.

Oh jeez, yes sorry, I’m not saying we should bring them back! Just that it wasn’t deadly to the touch, etc.

Asbestos should definitely be removed from our surroundings.

You don’t even wanna know about the flying monkeys. Suffice to say, California condors are now endangered, and the monkeys have a fear of staple guns.
