That’s the one silver lining. My biggest fear is that things won’t get worse fast enough. Humans, being dumber than frogs, won’t jump out of a pot of boiling water if you raise the heat slowly enough. I can only hope that the next four years are so terrible that we learn our lesson and have it actually stick this time.

I had to reboot my Windows 10 desktop because the software I have to manage my wallpaper wasn’t working (and still isn’t), and had to unplug my second monitor during reboot otherwise the Steam overlay won’t work. After rebooting, I had a different software prompt me to update and the save file location window froze the browser for 3-4 minutes, while discord was freezing in the foreground. The taskbar disappeared until I restarted Explorer.exe, some telemetry process I had never heard of before was eating up 92-100% of the CPU and I had to go into the scheduler to disable it.
This is an average day with Windows nowadays. I didn’t even mention the myriad of perpetual issues I’ve been having.
Of course on my Linux laptop Chrome wouldn’t update automatically either through the browser or from the command line (and I have to use Chrome because Google Drive doesn’t work right on Firefox on Linux).
Well obviously it’s the Western powers that gave a bunch of displaced Jews land after WWII, despite no legitimate claim to the area, and then proceeded to keep meddling in Middle Eastern affairs so they could get cheap oil. And the biggest of those Western powers directly gives taxpayer money to war profiteers so there’s a direct financial incentive to keep the genocide going.
Those are the goodest guys.
The owner class wrote the rules and will never give up one iota of power. If we want positive change, meaningful progress, it won’t be from working within the system.
History only teaches one lesson and it teaches it very plainly: no progress is made without bloodshed. The blood of the worker class has already been spilled, millions of times over.
Bows can be roughly created from easily available materials, making it impossible to ban the ownership of.
It would suck if working class Americans lost their retirement money due to Wall Street getting what they deserve. But what sucks more is that our retirement system is based on letting rich people gamble with your money in the first place!
I saw one painted black, that was the second time I thought “huh that looks kinda cool.”
The first time was when they first unveiled it. Concept models always look futuristic on the floor, but would look ridiculous in the real world. Unfortunately the cybertruck never evolved past the concept model stage.
It’s only malware if wealthy companies aren’t making money off of it.
It may be too late on this front, but don’t say AI when there isn’t any I to it.
Of course it could be successfully argued that humans (or at least a large amount of them) are also missing the I, and are just spitting out the words that are expected of them based on the words that have been ingrained in them.

Have you seen fast food prices recently? $25 is a meal deal with one additional burger/taco because the meal is too small to feed anyone older than a toddler.
Not saying that fast food is the cheapest option anymore, but it is a common option.
I only have one smaller chain grocery store in my area, and it’s half snake oil targeted to old hippies. It’s also three to four times as expensive because old hippies apparently have money?
I wish we would get an Aldi’s.
The only time I’ve been more miserable than when I was unemployed, was when I was employed.
Actions speak louder than words, though even their words aren’t saying much these days.
Some username squatter stole my gamer tag (which is wholly unique, pronounceable in English but utterly gibberish) on Rockstar’s stupid account system, and RDR2 being a single player game I was already pissed off. Then the settings required a restart of the game to change even the littlest things, like turning on captions, except the settings would never save.
So I got a refund and went to the high seas, got a version of the game that actually works and doesn’t require an unnecessary account login, and I’m playing in 10 minutes.
AAA game publishers don’t even make games anymore, they just sell user data.
I’m ok calling the Toupee “former President and convicted felon”.
Graphics cards are so bulky nowadays it’s often hard to even fit two on one mobo, as much as I’d love to see 10 GPUs all linked up.
