      Boomers and gen X are the ones not able to retire. Most of the younger generations have that ability.

          They haven’t saved for retirement and grew up in an Era with with work offering pensions as rare.

          Younger generations have greater growth and more savings across the board.

            Holy fuck.

            Generational wealth gap is an undisputed economic reality, especially when comparing any generation to boomers. Boomers have acquired more wealth by ever age benchmark than any generation to ever exist.

            And pensions were very common decades ago. Now they’re mostly gone:

                Assuming every member of the 1% in the US is a baby boomer, the value of the real estate they own accounts for about 1/3rd of the total real estate wealth owned by boomers.

                The 1% have also benefited modestly from rising real-estate values. Their real-estate holdings increased by just under $1 trillion during the pandemic, to reach a high of $5.27 trillion.
