Lindsey Halligan, the White House official leading a review of the Smithsonian Institution, said you “can’t really talk about slavery honestly unless you talk about hope and progress” during a Newsmax appearance on Wednesday.

    Utter cowardice.

“We’re going to spend three or four decades being belligerent shitheads to the rest of the world when they tell us exactly what is going to happen, and when they’re proven right we’re going to depend on them to save us from ourselves. Meanwhile, we’re going to keep congratulating ourselves for our revolutionary, victory-against-great-odds heritage.”

    On brand for Americans.

I never said anything about my heritage. Or justifying idiotic racists. I live in one place. I raise a kid. I can’t just drop everything and go on a tirade to save everyone. Neither can anyone else. Saying it’s “cowardice” shows how disconnected you are from reality. Not everyone has the means to make change other than being a good example and showing other they are being dick heads when they are being dick heads.

Right. Because nobody who ever fought fascism and tyranny ever had jobs, families, dreams, or anything to lose. Your national heroes were all just Disney characters who never had to risk anything because their victory was guaranteed and there were, of course, no potential consequences for getting it wrong.

You seem to be a bit mentally unhinged. If you have the energy, go fight the fight. I tried in my younger years and can’t keep up the fight. It’s up to the newer generation.

My country’s fine for now, thanks. Go sit on the sofa and rest. You’ve done enough, clearly- pat yourself on the back and just be as complacent as you can be.
