  • No, boycotts are not a corporate death knell. No one is saying that. LITERALLY no one is saying their personal decision or reasoning is the cause of this news.

EVERYONE ks pkinting at shitty things Ubisoft does, says, it caused them to not bjy it and likely is impacting others’ decisions… then you come along going, “NUHUH NUHUH, Ubisoft isn’t losing money because YOU didn’t buy it!”

My dude… we FUCKING KNOW THAT!! We’re saying UBISOFT shot themselves in the foot with shitty behavior. This article is literally about the effects of people not buying en masse, and you’re saying that the NEWS WE ARE READING is not possible…

Just stop. Just stop. Boycotts most often do not work, but THIS IS NOT A BOYCOTT!! This is people explaining why they stopped giving Ubisoft money. Holy fuck, you are good at doubling down on a bad idea.

  • rofl! The difference vetween a progressive and liberal is NOT just when they decide to intervene in corporations…

American liberals want to means test EVERYTHING that could concievably go to a poor person. A progressive realizes the red tape is fucking stupid and expensive in its own right. Remember the COVID funds? Sucked up by megacorporations more than small businesses like it was supposed to be for? Notice how American liberals didn’t go after those corporations or really care that the money instantly dried up for smaller fries?

Yea, American liberals are ABSOLUTELY closer to American conservatives in practicality. It doesn’t matter how many polite words they use if the end result is FUNCTIONALLY THE SAME. No, conservatives wouldn’t have given any money to poor people, but as already said, liberals didn’t care that corporations with lawyers that could push all the red tape got the money, not small businessesthat actually neededrhe help.

They BOTH serve to drain the government of public funds. You’ve just fallen for the pleasantries they put on the same negative slant of actions. No, liberals are not fascists themselves, but they’re always, always dumb enough to make things suck enough that fascists sound nice to fools.

  • Many people are giving wrong answers. Cognitive dissonance is NOT simply holding two opposing ideas in your head. Cognitive DISSONANCE is the uneasy feeling people are supposed to get when holding discongruent ideas at the same time.

Some people do not feel cognitive dissonance at all even while openly voicing the opinions. Great examples are all over politics. If one is for women having the freedom to make their own medical decisions, but oppose abortion bejng legal, those are two opposing views that SHOULD trigger unease and make them reconsider one position or the other.

A better example is people that believe laws should apply equally to everyone, but then go on to say Trump should totally be immune. That SHOULD cause dissonance, but it doesn’t for far too many.

  • You’re being downvoted, but that is EXACTLY how this otherwise benign moment will be weaponized by the right.

Republicans WILL share this as a slander, and the Dems will utterly fail to clarify the truth. They suck at clearing up Republican BS partly because clearing up lies always takes longer than speaking the lie, but the Dems have a track record of falling on their ass in the attempt.

The ratchet effect is real, which is why “enlightened centrism” is nothing but a moronic farce that runs cover for the ratchet mechanism. Republicans are literally vile, selfish pieces of shit that do not know what America stands for (or rather do not like what America stands for), and they MUST be treated as such.

Literal traitors should NEVER get the benefit of any doubt.
