  • Get well soon, your posts are much appreciated.

Thanks for the reminder to pick up Sable. I had already bought it on GOG when it came out and played on another type of handheld, the GPD Win Max and didn’t have any performance issues really. I loved the movement and exploration and obviously the visuals. To me it had the great feeling movement of BOTW, without the bad combat. Highly recommended.

Speaking of Playnite, that’s what I was using when I had the GPD Win Max as my game library manager and I really miss it. Now that I basically only play on Steam Deck, I miss its UI. I love the simplicity of remapping controls with the Steam Deck and it’s a much more comfortable device, but Steam is a worse client. I’m really looking forward to the Linux release so then I can use it on my laptop too.

On the topic of Steam Deck, how reliably do the GOG achievements and cloud saves work with Heroic Launcher? I’ve been using Non-Steam game launcher for Non-Steam games, but it doesn’t always add the game reliably to Steam so I’m stuck doing it manually.

Finally, I’ve just started buying games I already own and love on different store fronts, that way I give more money to developers I like and not feel like I’m missing out on the sale while at the same time not having to feel bad for buying new games I don’t have time to play. That said, I bought third copies of Tux and Fanny and Sumatra: The Fate of Yandi on GOG and picked up the Case & Consequence Collection Bundle on Humble Bundle for BROK the Investigator and Heavy Rain

  • Really bummed about this cancellation. However, if you’re looking for other games in this genre of narrative desktop / interface games there are several upcoming games to look forward to at least.

    DECRYPTO Project | Steam

Description: Our algorithm has chosen you for inclusion in the DECRYPTO project. Your job is simple: we send encrypted texts, you decipher them. Loyalty and diligence will be rewarded with upgrades and customization options for your system. Disobedience and sabotage will be punished.

    Desktop Explorer | Steam

Description: A detective-like puzzle game set in a 90s operating system. Rummage through forgotten files, abandoned games and outdated software. Face your fears to find the reason behind a teenager’s disappearance.

    lily’s world XD | Steam

Description: lily’s world XD is a psychological horror game where you investigate a young girl’s computer. Channel your inner 2000s teen as you read her old conversations, customize her blog, and look through her embarrassing selfies. That is, until you find messages addressed to you…

    oneway.exe | Steam

Description: You’re stuck inside an abandoned video game, haunted by its own digital decay. In oneway.exe, uncover the mystery of UNTITLED.exe, its three developers, and the evolving Internet eras that once shaped their friendship.

Pony Island 2: Panda Circus | Steam

Description: Pony Island 2: Panda Circus is a phantasmagorical voyage through time, myth, divinity, and video games. Escape the lordly deities of the underworld with your soul, and your sanity, intact. This is not a game about ponies.

    VICE Undercover | Steam

Description: VICE Undercover is a point & click narco-thriller set in an alternate 1980s Miami - where every choice matters. You play as undercover agent Vida, and for one hour per day, you’re taking control over a cartel-run computer using Amigo OS, a fully-functional 1980-inspired operating system.

However, Dreamsettler was the one I was most looking forward to, which is a real shame it’s cancelled.

  • My partner had been pushing me to join Lemmy for awhile, but I came across this sub and saw your posts and was motivated to finally make an account. I really enjoyed reading through the backlog of them and the amount of effort you put into your posts is much appreciated. Steam Deck, GOG and Linux are some of my main interests in gaming so it’s really great to read your enthusiastic and positive posts on these topics.

I’m also a big fan of what GOG stands for and thank you for posting that job post listing. I’m really tempted to apply to one of the positions even though I don’t live in Poland. I’m pretty qualified and it would be amazing to get to work there.

Also, as I’m new to the community I was wondering what the preference here is for long-form multi news post summaries vs short “breaking” news posts. There’s a few other people I follow through RSS who make these type of long-form posts and I’ve started making some of my own on my personal website. If it’s okay, I would like to take inspiration from your news summary posts to compile some news from other more niche topics in gaming and post them here if that would be of interest.
