Socialist Mormon Satanist. Socialist Workers Party Kopimist. Debt-free. Alcohol-free. Drug-free. Caffeine-free. Work-free. Over 45,000 downvotes hurled at me for refusing to kneel and vote for the capitalist Duopoly. Despite the attempts to silence me, I’m still here. I won’t be stopped.

  • Thanks for your sentiment. Even tho I didn’t practice brevity in writing to you, I’m not actually THAT worked up by it. I mean, their actions did inspire me to post more and comment more.

But my political outlook and Lemmy is a very small, hobby-ish part of my life. I’m recently retired so I have lots of time. My Lemmy posting is usually just in between the other fun projects I work on.

Lemmy is still a relatively small community, so the same names often pop up. Which makes it seem that I’m more active than I really am. I check in daily at different times during the day when I have time or am eating, but I’m not on here for hours at a time.

And that’s also the reason I can’t give you a reasonable critique on the current material conditions of our country. I’m not that educated or well-spoken. I’m pro-union, pro-worker safety, and pro-privacy. I subscribe to socialist material and enjoy reading it and supporting it. And I may start a local chapter of the Socialist Workers party (the party I voted for in the election).

But I am by no means a philosopher/scholar in socialism.

    Thanks, friend!

  • I’m not cheering for facists; I’m cheering about Democrats’ (and Lemmy’s) significant losses in the recent election.

My experience prior to the election was crazy—I faced downvotes, jeers, false accusations of being a Russian agent, and was banned from several communities and an entire instance.

Why? Because just a few months ago, merely mentioning support for third parties would get you labeled as a fascist or a Nazi troll.

Ironic because now, dissatisfaction with the Democrats has made third-party discussions far more acceptable. But way different vibe just a few months ago.

My ban stemmed from sharing a Newsweek article about Trump’s rising poll numbers before the election, which led to hundreds of comments and DMs accusing both me and Newsweek of lying.

So when Trump won, confirming Newsweek’s reporting and vindicating my decision to post it, I laughed for a good 15 minutes at least.

Lemmy had turned into such an echo chamber that dissenting from Democrat adoration wasn’t tolerated.

After being banned, I thought about the importance of diversity of opinion—a value that should be upheld on Lemmy but wasn’t. In response, I joined other instances, created a few of my own instances under alt names and VPN’s (so that I won’t be silenced, not to ban-evade and troll), and I decided to share news about Trump amidst a barrage of anti-Trump coverage.

Me posting articles that present alternate viewpoints isn’t going to end the world.

So no, I’m not supporting fascists. I’m applauding the breakdown of the Democrat-led groupthink that dominates Lemmy.

For the record, I didn’t vote for Trump. I supported the Socialist Workers Party candidate, Rachele Fruit.

I’m still a socialist. It’s just now I’m anti-Democrat due to my Lemmy experiences.

By attempting to silence and ban me, Lemmy created my cause. Now, I’m determined to speak out more frequently and more loudly. Under this name and others.

So thanks for trying to silence me, Lemmy. Now I have a cause and won’t go away. You all should have just ignored me rather than try to get rid of me. :)

  • How’s your leftist Jill Stein / Socialist Party thing going?

Great! I just posted some socialist articles today to the Socialist Workers Party communities I mod. Thank you for asking! That’s so nice of you to remember!

Looks like you found a, what, 4th or 5th instance to use?

Clearly, there was a focused effort to silence me. After all, I didn’t vote for Biden, so obviously, I had to be censored, right?

To ensure I could keep speaking out, I registered my name across several platforms. My communities are across several platforms. This way, there’s no single authority that can silence me.

You know what’s really ironic? Your attempts to ban me actually inspired me to diversify my presence and actually post MORE! Isn’t that great? The beauty of the fediverse is that no single person or opinion controls everything.

.world actually created me. Now I’m all over the place! I even started my own instance! So thank you!!

Just think, if you would have just blocked me, rather than banning me, I’d probably be posting to one instance and no one would ever see what I post. But you all inspired me to really spread out!

Isn’t that something? Hey, do you remember the good old days when I was accused of being paid by the Russians and that I’d disappear after the election? I’m still here.

Remember how upset people were when I said I was going to vote for a third party? And now, look, many on Lemmy are advocating for third parties after feeling let down by the Democrats.

And remember when I got banned for posting an AP News article that reported Trump was rising in the polls? And now, it turns out he actually won. So much for that article being ‘propaganda.’

It’s funny how things turn out, isn’t it?

I’m not going anywhere, friend. Thanks!
