It’s definitely not faster than vim, fwiw.

The director of IT at a trucking company absolutely would have power over the devices used by said company.
You’re the fucking problem. Maybe if you treated people with humanity and worked towards a common solution instead of using technology to drain people’s souls, you wouldn’t have people that hate the shit you’re slinging.
What you do makes the world a worse place to live in.
I mean, not really. This is weird shit to put in a legal document and is pretty pointless. It’s also just hard to read due to contrast issues (which can be particularly relevant depending on any disabilities of interested parties, etc.). Like I’m pretty sure there is text on there that does not meet WCAG guidelines.
It’s definitely not appropriate for a court document. I’d go farther and say putting anything to dramatically draw attention to oneself in a court document is inappropriate. That’s simply not what court documents are for. They should strive to be as mundane, uninteresting, an impartial as possible.
It’s just for the “last mile” where code gets packaged up into releases. There’s still thousands of developers that have all of the code on their machines as well, it’s just that their local repos aren’t the ones that end up in the hands of end users.
Changes can come from anywhere. The Linux kernel itself doesn’t use any central repository like Github, it’s instead done via emailing patches that are eventually merged into the mainline kernel repository managed by Linus.
It is 100% decentralized.
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine path/to/file
will remove that shit.
Though personally, I get as much software as possible on my work MacBook through Nix, and only use .dmg
files if absolutely required.
I’m no chef but… smoked paprika? Sounds like it could fit the bill, maybe.
I just… don’t connect the TV to the internet. Never had an issue with anything like that.
Seems unlikely and frankly doesn’t matter much.
Yes, he is a dumbass, but frankly this is exactly what’s needed. More and more of his base having reality hit them in the face, complaining loudly, and fracturing his support.
Postgres, hands down. It’s far better than MySQL in every way.
There are many other FOSS CMS systems, and WordPress has always been trash from a technical perspective. It just was one of the first options in the early internet and consequently developed an ecosystem early. Would be great if it would go away so it stops sucking all of the air out of the room and alternatives can pick up steam.
Nah, neovim made too many breaking changes and prioritizes the wrong things. I’d much rather the spirit of vim continue, albeit with a better organizational structure.
Or just, you know, sit to pee like a civilized person.
I don’t think you’ve paid enough attention. Back when ChatGPT first launched, they were treated as saints.
The negative opinions have corresponded with public sentiment souring towards them in general (this did happen quite quickly, however).
Not sure why you’re out here defending hugely unpopular behavior.
Ah could be hardware/OS, yeah. I believe everyone at our company are on MacBooks (I’m a Linux guy myself, but orgs don’t usually like that).
My personal laptop is a Dell XPS 13 and while I like it for various reasons, it has had plenty of problems with the built-in mic and video (mostly the mic). So it very well could be that.
We have like 250, mostly remote and on Slack all the time. There’s the occasional hiccup here and there, but generally it’s pretty seamless.
I use Firefox on mobile all the time. Works fine for me. The fact that I get adblock on mobile makes it a no-brainer to use over chrome.
