The name says it all!
Sometimes it’s not the “classic” happy moments but intense experiences like these that make us feel alive.
feddit.org is a good choice, folks over there are pretty moderate. However as Lemmy is federated, you will still interact with extremist instances and their users such as hexbear.net or lemmy.ml, if your instance does not defederate.
You will learn fast which communities to avoid, just block then and mind your own business.
Other comments make a point though questioning your concept of left/right.

It makes no sense to discuss here. They probably follow Russia’s narrative of Europe being a puppet of the US.
Lol, ml. users getting wild in the comments
The whole Cube Escape Series.
I wonder if that’s really true though. From a strategic point of view it makes not much sense to me to focus on such a tiny community as Lemmy is over the usual targets such as TikTok, Meta and Shitter.
The community is a very weird mix of Anti-Imperialists, communists and islamists.
They are not openly Russia-friendly, but they are very uncritical towards authoritarian systems. From pro-palestine over pro Hamas to pro Iran, and then you are almost there.
I sometimes wonder if it is just the US-american left going insane these days or if some corners of Lemmy are under the influence of Russian and Chinese troll factories.
Time to raise an issue! I think markdown should be limited to the text body of a post…
Lemmy.ml is doomed. You were unlucky to pick the wrong instance. It’s one of the downside of federated Lemmy that .ml is the oldest instance, leading to many cool communities being hosted there. The only way is to start that community on another instance that is not .ml or .world and staying patient.
Hexbear and lemnygrad are not even a choice.

The tap, it generates water out of the void
Ii admit it didn’t work out of the box on Mint as well, but didn’t take more then 10 minutes of tweaking. But yes, I would not call it “Linux-friendly”.
Interesting, I have no problems with a Pixma TS8350. Printing is working as shitty as it has always been on Windows. I have yet to configure the scanner to be fair.
I get these vibes too, their other comment are in the same style.
I used to search with
site:reddit.com
, but the quality of research results got much worse within the last years. For big investments like let’s say a new washing machine I use a more or less independent website that tests different devices, it costs about 5€ to see the results. All in all I need much, much more time to do research. Often I simply do not buy anything in the end. It is very frustrating.
