Drone attacks and drone based spying will be huge and hobby drones will be highly restricted.
As a casual drone enthusiast I’m already filling in all of my flying now because the free flying days seem to be numbered.

Still nothing to address discoverabilty issues. There are timelines that no one’s maintaining and some packs and thats it? On mastodon I can just follow a hashtag and find people on Bluesky my feeds are just random low effort spam with a gold nugget once a while.
It literally takes 20 seconds to make an account and password manager manage everything for you. The federation here would bring almost no value for incredible increase in complexity.
Funny how in “communist” China almost no code is open source. It’s almost like it was never about “the people” huh
🎶 there goes my hero 🎶
The last two of their games - two point hospital and two point campus - were both incredible.
Lmao didn’t even notice - this is poetry
Slow news.
Seriously, you don’t need to know all of this shit every day. I do a weekly catch up on Saturday and indont think I’ve ever missed anything important. If anything some times gives news to clear up.
Just legal bullying. Good luck fighting an army of lawyers that are also lobbying the system. That being said all of that would be civil suits so if emulator creators don’t earn money they don’t have much to lose but the ability to continue the work.
Firefox + ublock origin + android is the best browsing experience on mobile.
Wow HMD’s stuff looks pretty slick!
It’s funny how far ahead 3d printers are in terms of consumer experience, everything is open, everything works and the tech is like 300 times more complex.
2D printer companies should be shamed to death.
Macbook pro
The aluminum chassis is stupid and has sharp edges so if you use the laptop on the go it’s likely to cut your wrists. The screen is so glary you can’t use the thing outside at all. The keyboard is really bad and I had one of those with a touchbar which is the dumbest laptop idea ever that would constantly get activated by slight brush or water droplet. And macos is such a terrible operating system full of legacy restrictions and commands you can’t customize or animations you can’t remove.
I had to use one for a contract I had with an US firm for security auditing and it dropped my productivity in half tho it was fun to explore the apple world on someone else’s dime knowing it’s temporary but I’m not going back ever.
That’s not a bad bet. Clearly telecommunications infrastructure is not going away and even radio towers are never going away until physics finds an alternative.
I do kinda miss Nokia’s creativity tho
Nah the argument that this could grow “pedophile culture” and even encourage real activities is really not that far fetched and could be even true. Without very convincing studies do you take a chance where real kids could soon suffer? And I mean the studies would have to be really convincing.
Crazy, sorry to hear about that.
I think humans do have a tendency to stereotype people but how does that evolve into a full blow hate is just beyond me. I imagine it’s an equivalent of losing your mind to a overly packed mushroom shake because you really have to be demented to fall into such behavior.
This is crazy - where does this happen that it sounds so normalized? How terrible it must be to live in an environment that allows this
The whole point is that real AI would be indistinguishable either way. The word Artificial really doesn’t change anything when evaluating intelligence.
Maybe if we had a long chat I could prove that I’m a human with cognitive dissonance cause that seems a uniquely human societal trait rather than an intellectual one. Though if the AI individual is part of our culture it’s likely they had adopted these traits as well meaning there would really be no way to tell.
Nokia still exists?
It already feels overdue considering drones are quite popular for drug drops, even directly to prisons. Once some big events happen like high profile assassination, terrorist attack ir even something menial it’ll be game over for free flying.
Having a drone is such an eye opener tho and I really recommend getting one before it becomes too complicated to own one. Seeing your environment from 100 meters up is such a perspective change. Taking a drone on a road trip and thinking “I wonder what’s behind that boulder there” and actually being able to find out is a very grounding experience :)
